This is a video narration of proposed Florida House Bill 913 filed on Feb. 23, 2025, by State Representative Vicki Lopez, a Republican whose district is comprised of much of Greater Downtown Miami and Key Biscayne.
If passed, the bill would revise the language to the overall Florida Condo Law and go into effect on July 1, 2025.
Representative Lopez's 99-page bill focuses on a variety of topics related to condominium associations in response to the ever-changing challenges resulting from the Surfside condo collapse in June 2021 when nearly 100 people died and a $1 billion settlement was paid out to the families of the victims.
On the eve of the March 4, 2025, regularly scheduled Florida Legislative session, condo expert Peter Zalewski of the Miami Condo Investing Club™ created this video of the proposed final language of a portion of the bill that focuses exclusively on the process of terminating Florida condo associations.
